I think romantic comedies are perfect for any time of year honestly, but there is something about a romcom set during the summer that hits different, even more perfect. I’m so excited to be sharing an own-voices YA romcom today, Once Upon A Quinceanera by @mardou99 which follows Monica Aguilar during an unforgettable summer of late night dancing, broken hearts, second chances and telenovela twists🌸 Thank you so much @epicreads for sending me a copy! 💌What was the last Blast from the Past you experience? My sister sent me a TikTok video of the heartbreaking scene from he movie My Girl, and 😳I forgot how long it’s been since I’ve seen it! Happy Wednesday ☕️
♡Have you been hauling more backlist titles or new releases since The Before Times came to an end and we’ve been mostly living the lives of social distancing? Most of my purchases have actually been backlist titles, specifically new to me older titles by authors and romance lines I’m just now becoming familiar with, but there are some newer titles I’ve been excited to snag when I have the chance. Let me know🌸 and happy Tuesday Friends!
♡Whats been your reading mood so far this year? I’ve been in the mood for romantic comedies, paranormal romance, romantic suspense & historical fiction (surprisingly!). I read a really good historical fiction at the end of 2020 and I think it reignited my love for it😍so I’m hoping I love The Paris Model by @alexandrajoelauthor which follows Grace. She’s a young woman who leaves her home in Australia for post war Paris to become a Christian Dior mannequin, a job that has her meeting and befriending some pretty important people. She meets and starts a relationship with this guy Philippe and before she knows it, she finds herself caught up in his world of international espionage. ☕️I almost snagged a travel memoir set in Paris today and am very much in the mood for this book, feel like Paris needs to be my next travel destination🌸
What is/was your last read of February? ☕️February has definitely been a humbling month for sure; Cold days with no electricity, no heat and the mental exhaustion that creeps in after days of *winging it* and trying to keep everyone else happy. It was also eye opening reads. Morning coffee. Laughs with friends. Long chats with my sisters. My first 1000 piece puzzle and days sitting on the couch watching romantic comedies🌸I read 31 books, most of which were really amazing and I ended the month with Scandal In The VIP Suite by @_nadinegonzalez I loved Nina & Julian’s writer & celeb romance, so much. I could feel the cool Miami breeze, I love a good close proximity and I loved seeing both Julian and Nina’s passions blend together to make something great. 🤎 so good!
