Weekly Wrap Up (4)

Hello Friends! It has been a while since I shared a Kindle haul with you, so I thought today I’d let you know what’s new on my kindle.

This Christmas by Sarah Spade, which is book 2 in her Holiday Hunk series. Back In October I read and loved Halloween Boo which is book one and followed Dani and Zack. In This Christmas we are following Dani’s older brother Max and Allison and so far it is so, so good! I feel like I may like it just a little bit more than Halloween Boo, but we’ll see once I finish. If you’re wondering, “I have heard those names before,” it’s because you have; they are from Hocus Pocus. If you are subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, this and I believe the entire series, is available to KU users.

F*ck and Fall In Love by Nicole Falls. This will be my first romance by this author and I am very excited! This is another one that is available to Kindle Unlimited users. I don’t know much about it other than it is a novella, and I am in the mood for something short and sweet! I will keep you posted on what I think of it.

Frosted Whipped Buttered by Christina C. Jones is another novella I have downloaded, know nothing about, but am so excited for. I feel like I am going to be in for a real treat with this one. Just going off the title alone, I feel like maybe there will be some foodie action in this romance and I am totally here for it! This one is also available to Kindle Unlimited users, so definitely take advantage if you’re subscribed!

Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I downloaded this one after seeing my friend Lisa from RemarkablyLisa on Youtube mention it, but I am slightly nervous now.. She started it and last time we chatted, she was DNF’ing it because something made her uncomfortable. This one I downloaded via Kindle Unlimited and paid 1.99 for the audiobook, so definitely take advantage of this deal and give it a try for yourself if you are already fans of these authors. I have yet to read anything by them but am still going to give this one a try.

Insatiable by Melanie Harlow, which is book 3 in her Cloverleigh Farms series. I cannot wait to start this one; I don’t know why I haven’t yet. This series has been such a joy to make it through. Harlow gives the right balance of small town charm and just the right amount of sexy. I can’t wait to see whose story we get in Insatiable. This title is available to Kindle Unlimited users as well, enjoy.

Those are my recent Kindle downloads friends. Let me know what you have hauled recently. I hope today is amazing for you, we will chat again soon.

I Hooked Up with Kindle Unlimited (Again!) Here’s what I One-Clicked

I have a very ‘it’s not you, it’s me‘ relationship with Kindle Unlimited. I know I should, but I don’t pay too much attention to all of the dramas going around surrounding Amazon and what it does for the book business. I just know for a busy Mom, who loves to read, having my Kindle is very convenient. and my relationship with Kindle Unlimited has proven to be complicated.

The thing with Kindle Unlimited for me is simple: Your Girl doesn’t like paying for something she doesn’t tend to use. There have been months and months where I pay for KU, one click away throughout the month but never actually read any of the books. This presented an issue for me. Why am I paying for something I don’t use? I questioned myself on this. I questioned myself on, do I keep it so that I don’t feel like I’m missing out? Because let’s be real here, as a romance reader, there are so many damn good romances on KU! Well, I went with the decision to get rid of both Kindle Unlimited and Audible Escape. I figured between the library and Scribd, I’d be okay.

sit down

That lasted about a week. I hooked back up with Kindle Unlimited. The good thing about KU is that you can break up and get back together as conveniently as needed, and as of now, he isn’t going anywhere. I haven’t gotten back together with Audible Escape because honestly, while I still have the Audible App, very rarely did I actually use Audible Escape for my audiobooks. Yes, there would be times I’d get on there and binge a series, or listen to novellas, but those times were few, far and in between. I actually have purchased most of the audiobooks on my app and most of them were super cheap because I had them downloaded via Kindle Unlimited. So right now, I am comfortable with my decision.

My intention is this: I am paying for it, so I need to read at a minimum, two Kindle Unlimited books per month. If I read more than that, great! That is the ‘expectation,’ though. I truly believe in getting what you’re paying for. And I encourage you, if you’ve been thinking of this late, to ask yourself, is it worth my hard earned money if I’m not using it? That money could be saved or spent elsewhere.

Now that I’m back though, here are the titles I’ve one clicked so far:

Of course I had to one click away on one of my favorite authors, Melanie Harlow. I clicked three titles by her:

First is, From This Moment which is book 4 in the After We Fall series.

from this moment

Next is Irresistible which is book 1 in her Cloverleigh Farms series

Followed by Undeniable which is book 2 in the Cloverleigh Farms series

One that I have already started is my first ever Kandi Steiner romance and that’s On The Rocks

on the rocks

So far I have kept it simple and haven’t gotten out of control. These are four books I’ve really wanted to read so I decided to put them first and go from there. I will definitely be getting to these this month!

So yes friends, I am back with Kindle Unlimited as of now, and I’ll keep you posted on the status of our relationship. Will we successfully stay together and find a groove that works, or will we not work out, yet again. Only time will tell.

Recent Kindle One-Clicks

Looking for something to one click for your Kindle? One clicking for me can get pretty dangerous. I instantly will find myself down a rabbit hole of scourging Amazon to see what else is out there and before I know it I have more downloaded than I can probably handle..But I wanted to share some of my recent one clicks with you in case you needed some ideas.

First up is A Lesson In Thorns by Sierra Simone, a new favorite romance author of mine. I wanted to devour everything she’s written ever since I read Priest.

A Lesson In Thorns

With an average rating of 4.37 stars on Goodreads, my hopes and expectations for A Lesson in Thorns are a tad high, but I have started it already and it is giving all the dark, atmospheric Sierra Simone vibes I need.  It follows Poe, a librarian who goes to Thornchapel for work, determined to stay away from the tortured owner, Auden. Poe also wants to find out what happened to her mother, 12 years ago. While she works in the library, keeping her head down..she assumes it should be easy to track down why this remote manor would be the last place her mother was seen.

My next one click, I don’t know much about, but a friend posted it on Instagram and I had to have it.

My Life in Shambles

My Life in Shambles has an average rating of 4.13 stars on Goodreads and a damn gorgeous cover to it. I want to go into it a tad blind so I’ll share part of the blurb with you..

When Valerie Stephens made the resolution to say yes to new adventures, she never thought she’d end up in the tiny town of Shambles, fake engaged to one of Ireland’s top rugby players. But there’s a first time for everything.

My next one click is one I have actually started making my way through and am loving!

Petal Pluckers

Petal Plucker is hilarious so far and I’m only on the third chapter. It has an average rating of 3.98 stars on Goodreads and I’m loving it. It follows Dani, short for Dandelion *her Mom was tripping*  and she is now running her family’s flower shop..when one day, the guy who stood her up on prom night walks back into her life. The banter between Dani and her family is giving me life right now and I can’t wait to see where the romance goes.

And my most recent one click is a duo author new the night before I typed this new..

Imperfect Match

With an average rating of 4.62 stars on Goodreads, and written by Melanie Harlow *a Fave* and Corinne Michaels who I have had on my authors to be read list..I feel it in my core that I’m going to love this book. The cover alone gives me all the feels!

Rule number one for a professional matchmaker?

Don’t fall in love with your client.

Enough said.

Those friends, are my latest one-clicks on Amazon for my Kindle. Let me know what you have one clicked recently if you’re an ebook reader. Hope all is well with you, until next time..xo.
