Friday Notes

Happy Friday friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week and are planning to relax and enjoy this upcoming weekend. Thought I’d check in with you on all the things. Let me know how you’re doing!

What I’ve Been Reading:

It’s been a few days since I finished a book but February has still been a really good reading month. My most recent reads are

Sign On is part of a six book series of novellas. I loved them all! They are all connected, so definitely try and read them in order.
Pursuit Of The Truth was a five star read for me! When I went to rate it on Goodreads, it had zero ratings or reviews. Read it y’all! I know how skeptical we can be over romantic suspense but K.D. Richards does the work to make it work! Loved it!
The Forever Girl was yet another wonderful Jill Shalvis novel, part of her Wildstone series. I spent most of January reading through her Lucky Harbor series so it felt really nice to jump into her latest release!
Sweatshirts and leggings are an entire mood for me right now with our cooler weather, so I had to snag this sweatshirt from! I am a rep for them, so if you ever want to place an order, use my code FALLING4ROMANCE for a discount off your order! I love the way it fits and it’s so soft and comfortable. I believe this specific sweatshirt is now out of stock but she has so many amazing options to choose from! *treat yourself*
Beverly Hills Wedding starred Brooke D’Orsay and Brandon Penny and was our first in 2021’s Love Ever After lineup!
Keep Reading for my thoughts…

Beverly Hills Wedding had a lot of potential but sadly, it was a Nope!, from me. I think wedding movies can be tricky to pull off in a film that is going to be 2 hours long, especially when the main characters of the film are so heavily involved in the making of the wedding happening! The heroine of the movie is the sister of the bride and steps up to help her sister plan the wedding which in turn results in her making the wedding into something completely opposite of her sister and her groom. If the focus of this film would have solely been sisterhood, the at times over-protectiveness and tendency to do too much on an older sister’s part and letting go of those reigns it would have been perfect But, it’s pitched as a romance and the focus was on a second chance romance so that’s what I went into this movie expecting. In the beginning we are given the fact that Molly and Cory were a couple once upon a time; I think that along with the few scenes we see them interact throughout the movie are supposed to suffice for the lackluster happy ending we see at the end. The chemistry is supposed to be assumed because we know they’ve been together before, but this whole movie is awkward and uncomfortable because main character Molly is making it that way and it detracts from any believability with the romance.

I am currently reading The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas which releases this month on the 23rd and I am loving it!

It’s Valentine’s Day Weekend so this weekend will be jam packed with romcom watching and reading (sounds like a typical weekend for me!) and I’m hoping to just chill. I hope you do too! Let me know what you’re up to, what you’ve been reading and enjoying!

xx, Bree
