Happy Sunday friends. I have decided I would like to do weekly wrap-ups here on the blog. I will share whatever highlights from my week there are, what I’ve been reading, watching-all the jazz! So let’s get into it.
Besides reading for school, I did manage to read a few things for fun..
I am kicking my holiday romance binge’s butt and my fingers are crossed that the momentum keeps up. This week I finished two books, A Coldwater Christmas by Delores Fossen and Christmas In Winter Valley by Jodi Thomas. Reviews for both will be up in December during my attempt at #Blogmas. I am vlogging my progress through my stack, so if you want to keep up with my video diaries and see firsthand thoughts of my reading, click here to subscribe to my Youtube channel.
One of my favorite romance focused Podcasts is The Wicked Wallflowers Club. I love their blend of asking questions to get to know their author guests both as readers and diving into their writing life. I checked their website and the episode I listened to this week and loved isn’t posted on the website yet, but click here to check them out! Wherever you listen to your podcasts, episode 106 is the most recent episode and it’s an interview with author Andie J. Christopher, author of Not The Girl You Marry. Along with the author, they had her editor from Berkley Romance and the interview was such an insightful look into the world of getting published.
I watched two really good Hallmark movies this week; Picture A Perfect Christmas and Two Turtle Doves. I tend to wait until after the premiere to watch but these were both new releases and oh, so good! Picture A Perfect Christmas specifically is now in my top five favorite Christmas movies. I highly recommend them both though.
My friend Sarah, at Steeped In Books over on Youtube, posted her 2019 Holiday Book Bingo announcement video here, and I was so excited. In the summer she hosts the summer romance book bingo which I am always sad to see come to an end, so I am so overjoyed that she does this during the holiday season. I already have my bingo card printed out and can’t wait to get started.
Also, this week, my friend Stephanie from Steph’s Romance Book Talk did a live show while answering the End of Year Book tag which you can see here. I am always amazed at how many books a day Steph reads and how many she rounds out each year having read. It was a nice group of viewers watching and just what I needed that day. It felt like a group of friends hanging out, chatting about books! We need more positive spaces like that. Certain spaces within the book community have become so toxic lately.
As for me, I have two videos that went up this week. First, I vlogged through a few Kindle Unlimited and Audible Escape romances and I posted my to be read list for next weekend’s Contemporary-A-Thon.
I hope this week was amazing for you! It was a chill, low key week for me because I didn’t have a crap ton of school work due. I definitely overindulged on the relaxation time. Let me know what you read/watched/listened to this week. Anything you’d recommend?
Hi Bree! I’m getting ready to release my first romance novel on Wattpad starting Jan 1, and (I know this is a long shot) but I was wondering if you might want to give it a read. I’m not asking for a review or publicity, rather just the opinion of another romance novel lover. It’s romantic suspense and titled Runaway.
Anyway, if you don’t find this terribly annoying and are maybe interested, you can message me at julianneking1420@gmail.com.
Thanks!
